The Yin for which kayaking is the YangNo extensive whitewater library is complete without WhiteWater!
HOT DAMN! THIS BOOK RULES!But I digress, the point of this meandering is that this book is great and fun to read. Interspersed within the more technical information are brief descriptions of whitewater rivers around the world. This is a format I really enjoy as it allows my A.D.D. afflicted brain a cunning diversion. I have done a bit of whitewater rafting and kayaking and find after reading this book a renewed feeling of desire for not only the boat but the feeling that a river rewards you with. The complete inundation of senses coupled with waves of adrenalin(and sometimes nausea) that a whitewater trip provides.
I am a practical person and a parent I may not be able to hit the river right away but atleast I can tuck myself away in my bathroom and escape to the rivers of my mind thanks to Mr. Blaine.

Outstanding
A very hard-to-put- down reference text - totally unique!

Great BookHer main character is tough and flawed - but not afraid to acknowledge her flaws. The plotting was very interesting and topical.
I would seriously recommend this book to all devotees of tough women protagonist crime fiction.
WonderfulThis is a wonderful find for me - a new author in the Paretzky mould. I can't wait to read the other books in the series.
Blaine is a tough, widowed alcoholic PI but not so tough that she has to win every encounter in her professional or personal life.
Gritty and topical plotting, realistic characterisations, tons of suspense and romance. What more could you ask for?

it really helpedon picard's mission
I have no idea how to play the game!

A classic on life and deathBeautifully told in a lyrical poetic way, each page is a joy. For those who love Native American culture, you will find an accurate, respectful account of Lakota life. For those who enjoy good literature, this book will satisfy you by providing an intriguing story you will not be able to put down. But most importantly, it will teach and remind you of what is important in life - it is truly a book for students of life.
This book goes far beyond the Native American perspective it is told in and will speak to all people in all circumstances. We are all touched by the themes of aging and death and this story will speak to your heart.
Wonderful fiction portrayal of Native American life

This is THE reference for advanced pneumaticsMost of the topics are taken all the way from introduction to a reccomendation of what coeficient values to use in the calculation. Also I am not aware of any other book giving design procedures for control analysis like this book.
This book is reprinted in 2001, and it is definitely worth the [price] for anyone designing advanced pneumatic systems.
I have a copy of the reprinted version (ISBN 1-57524-164-1) , and Andersen is promising us a new version soon. In this version he will switch to the SI system and all the imperial system units will fortunately disappear!
After a more basic book like, say, Pinches (ISBN 0-13-489790-0) the Andersen book is the one to continue with.

Excellent!
